Flow, a progressive logistics company, and part of Ghassan Ahmed Al-Sulaiman Group, has announced the official launch of its new omni-channel and e-commerce fulfilment center at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).
The development of the logistics services sector is one of the key highlights of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to put Saudi Arabia on the world map when it comes to logistics management. The new distribution center is designed specifically to support and enhance the e-commerce requirements in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. The company aims to meet the growing needs of local customers through the establishment of a unique logistics platform that links existing commercial centers, paving the way for new trade routes.
Speaking at the launch event in KAEC, Saud Al-Sulaiman, Flow CEO, said: “We have noticed a significant gap when it comes to professional logistics facilities and infrastructure in the Kingdom. Nevertheless, the e-commerce industry continues to grow exponentially year on year, creating a need for logistics to support this increase in demand within the market. And this is why Flow is launching this center here today — incorporating advanced services with superior technology to meet the growing needs and requirements of the e-commerce and logistics industry and we are ready to fill the gap in the market.”
“We’ll continue to grow and expand our footprint in the Kingdom, striving to meet our customers’ needs by creating and reaching them through new channels. The launch of this landmark facility highlights our commitment to providing superior services to improve customer service and move closer to our vision of creating a better everyday life for people. We believe that Flow is capable of offering distinctive solutions to meet the market’s growing needs” added Al-Sulaiman.
The new center is spread across 75,000 square meters, scaling 37.5 meters high. It features multiple floors, with a total area of more than 200,000 square meters, making it the largest center of its kind in Saudi Arabia. The center is capable of accommodating 180,000 industrial pallets equivalent storage positions.
The center is designed in a way to cater to both full storage pallets and e-commerce parcel solutions, with a current operational capacity of 190 per shift in phase 1.
